I was having this crazy conversation the other day with a close friend of mine and we were talking about this one thing that can either make or break people in life. It can really make people lose themselves, lose who they are, lose their morals, lose their respect, lose their identity, lose everything in life, but it can also make everything in life. It can make your vision come true and this powerful thing that we all have around us, which some people find it really hard to grasp a hold of yet others seem to find it in abundance, is money.
Money is one of those things that can make people feel dirty and horrible having money around or they have been told that money is evil, or that money equals pain or that anyone that has money is a horrible person. The truth really is that money makes us more of who we are. Money has no conscious state, so it doesn’t wake up in the morning and think that it is going to go to the evil people of the world or it doesn’t think that it’s going to go to the great people of the world, it just goes to whoever offers value. Money is a transfer of energy and that is all it is at its basic form. Now I don’t want to get all ‘hoo ha’ and talk about all this energy stuff but all it is, is a transfer of energy.
If I give my knowledge and my time to my clients then I have value in myself to earn some money. Then from there I like to have electricity, air conditioning in summer, I also need a fridge for my food, so I use money again to transfer that value or that energy to someone else who has done some other work or some other job. The key to money isn’t about being bad or good, it’s really about firstly valuing yourself. If you don’t value yourself then you will never ever get that transfer of energy and transfer money into your life. You need to find who you are as a person but also what you stand for and your own worth. If you don’t value you then nobody else will therefore they are not going to pay you for it.
I meet a lot of people at my seminars and my events who are really struggling financially day in and day out, they are living week by week and I can see the pain that they have inside. It is because usually firstly they don’t value them, they don’t value their time and their knowledge. Because of that, they go to work and their boss pays them minimum wage or just enough and then push them for a little overtime so they make a little bit more money but because they don’t value the money they spend it all which puts them into more debt so then they struggle more which means they need a pay rise. So there is this constant fight between employees and bosses where the boss is trying to get the most amount of work for the minimal amount of money and the employee is trying to do the minimal amount of work for the most amount of money so there is this struggle and fight that is going on and it is completely incorrect in the way of business, I truly believe that. Once we value ourselves and our knowledge and our time and who we are as people then from there we can negotiate our worth.
If somebody came to me in my business or anyone else’s i know and said, “Hey look I’m making you $10,000 dollars this week and because I’ve made you $10,000 dollars, could you pay me $1000 dollars or $1500 dollars or event $2000?” If I didn’t have to do anything and all I had to do was get out of bed in the morning and bank the cheque, that is a good investment, that is a wise investment. Yet because of the power struggle going on the employees are usually trying to do the least amount of work for the most amount of money and the employer is trying to get the most amount of work for the least amount of money so there is this constant struggle going on which looks like a power battle and for so many people it causes huge amounts of stress.
If we can just understand that value transfer where we value our self, our knowledge and our time then we can really create something in the world and offer value to other people. When I look at social media right now there are social media networks, which I will not name, which connect over a billion people from all over the world with each other and because of that it is worth billions of dollars. If that stopped instantly, it would cause chaos and turmoil in the world that we live in. Imagine if all of our Internet and mail systems went down overnight that would create billions of dollars worth of lost revenue probably even trillions of dollars of lost revenue in people being connected and serving each other.
Because of that we have to pay for that, it has to come from somewhere or somebody. If I want to watch tv, that value needs to be transferred which it could come through marketing because I buy products and so on, so everything is just a transfer of energy and money is energy, it is that simple.
So if we value ourself and value our worth, and value our knowledge then we can get more of it if we know how to negotiate, if we know how to create those skills. But while so many people out there are being taught that money is evil, money causes problems, money just causes stress and frustration, most people just get rid of it, people just go out and spend it because they don’t understand that their natural unconscious pattern is to get rid of money because they believe it is pain. If money is bad and we create this internal dialect that says money is bad and bad people earn money, bad people rule the world with money, money is power, money kills the environment, money hurts people that maybe an unconscious thought pattern that we don’t even think about. Therefore money just comes into our life and because we say, “Well I am not a bad person,” and remember this is all happening unconsciously, this happens every second in our own brain, when we make decisions therefore most people get rid of it.
For example, some people might say,
“I need a new pair of shoes today,” “I need a new car,”
“But you already have a good car and it is only a year old?”
“But I need a new one, you don’t understand!”
“I need the extension on the house, we need a second fridge, we need to buy the kids new clothes.”
All of a sudden that money goes because that decision had already been made for us because of our unconscious thought patterns.
In order to create money, you must value you, you must value your knowledge and you must value your time. I know I have said that about a hundred times but it is so important for you to create what you want in the world. Once you know who you are, once you know your value, then you can go out and start offering value to others which means that more will come back in, then when more comes in, then you can create a vision of what you truly want. You also have to have the courage to follow that as well because so many people get stuck, again because of that fear, and not following their vision but following someone else’s.
It’s your time thrive.
