This week I am sharing my top tips to create greater success.
1.) Start your day with an Hour To Thrive
Thrive time is your time to thrive. Create a consistent daily ritual that will put you in a great mental, emotional, metaphysical and physical state to start your day. These could include any tasks such as:
- Reading
- Exercising
- Tai chi
- Meditation
- Journaling
- Sitting in nature
Below is my morning routine
- 6:00am – Alarm
- 6:10 am – Cold shower
- 6:20 am – 10-20 minutes of breathing exercises or tai chi
- 6:40 am – Energiser Exercises, Affirmations and Emotional Work
- 7:00 am – Walk / Gym
- 7:30am – Breakfast
If you do not have the same amount of time to commit to your Hour to thrive, at least start with 10 minutes to thrive and just focus on 1 thing that makes you come alive and feel great to start your day with. It may even be writing a list of 10-20 things you are grateful for and then dancing around the house while you get ready for work. Never underestimate the power of your morning routine to shape your day.
2.) PLAN, PLAN, PLAN
Planning is the key to winning in all areas of life. As the great saying goes, “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.” Without a vision and yearly goals for all areas of life (which are then broken down into quarterly blocks and then finally used as weekly goals) then failure and stress is near. At the start of each year I religiously sit down for 2 days and plan my year. Since doing this I have noticed I achieve far more each year and with less stress and pain.
It is also essential to set goals for all areas of life including heath, mindset and emotions, time management, intimate relationship, friends and family, career, finances and contribution to others. After working with tens of thousands of clients patterns become evident. A common one is with those who set career and wealth goals and work hard to make money yet destroy their friendships, intimate relationship and family trust in the process. When asked if they set weekly goals for friends, family and intimate relationship growth, almost all say NO.
After you have weekly goals, it is a must to book them into your weekly diary or schedule manager. This includes exercise time, family time, meal time etc. I personally book everything in my daily and weekly schedule as a guide to keep me on track. If things change in my schedule then that is fine and I don’t get stressed but I know what is important and what I have to stick too and what can slide.
3.) Move your body
Through the day I set an alarm each hour that reminds me to get up out of my chair and spend 5-10 minutes stretching, moving and getting back into an empowered state. When my alarm flashes It comes up with 3-5 emotions that are important to my day. Those emotions almost become an affirmation as I repeat them in my head each hour when I am stretching and moving around. Sometimes I use techniques such as tapping to subconsciously engrain them in my permenant emotional state. I believe if you are going to do something, why not feel great about it.
Financial or professional success without joy, happiness and fulfilment is the ultimate failure in life. “It’s your time to thrive”.
Exercise is also an essential part of continuing success. Many studies over the years have shown that people who exercise frequently are happier and more confident than those who don’t. Studies have also shown that exercise releases endorphins and other feel good hormones.
For those wanting to create greater success, feeling good is a must as it is a lot easier to tackle problems and barriers if you feel empowered and regular exercise is a must if you want to stay empowered.
It’s your time to thrive
